BOURNE BAPTIST CHURCH

Our Vision

Our Vision

As Bourne Baptist Church we are called to be a Holy Spirit-led, all age community of God, PRAYERFULLY and PROACTIVELY, spreading the love of Christ.

We believe God is calling Bourne Baptist Church to become a Holy Spirit-led, all-age community of God, prayerfully and proactively spreading the love of Christ. This vision has grown out of a season of shared prayer, listening, and discernment, as we sensed the Holy Spirit gently shaping our hearts in the same direction. It reflects both what God has been doing among us and where we believe He is leading us together.

What does this mean about our Vision?

  • Holy Spirit-led
We want to be a people who listen before we act – seeking God’s presence, wisdom, and power in all we do, and asking: “Holy Spirit, what are You doing, and how can we join in?”

  • An all age community of God
We value every generation. From the youngest to the oldest, we believe each person has something vital to contribute. We want to share life, faith, and ministry together as one church family.

  • Prayerfully and proactively spreading the love of Christ
Mission begins in God’s presence. Prayer shapes our hearts, and action flows from it—loving our neighbours, serving our community, and sharing the hope of Jesus with gentleness and courage.

To achieve our vision, we follow focus on our Four Themes

Holy Spirit

We remain attentive to the Holy Spirit, making space for prayer, worship, and spiritual gifts. We trust Him to guide, teach, and empower us for mission and transformation.

Children & Youth

We invest in children and young people by nurturing faith, supporting wellbeing, and discipling them through Bible teaching, encountering the Spirit, and serving others. We aim to foster an all-age culture where everyone belongs.

Back to Basics

We focus on Scripture, prayer, worship, fellowship, and discipleship – building strong foundations so our faith, relationships, and mission grow in healthy, God-honouring ways.

Stepping Out

We step beyond the familiar to serve our community, share the Gospel, and demonstrate Christ’s love. We trust God’s leading and put love into action for the sake of others.

Together, these four themes shape us as a Holy Spirit-led, all-age community prayerfully spreading the love of Christ.
